Brit is a very special horse for very special people. She takes part in Equest Special Riders, Inc. is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to promote physical and mental strength and coordination as well as self-esteem and enjoyment through horseback riding activities for individuals with disabilities. Brit has developed ulcers and her family needs a little help to bring her back to full health. Can we help a horse who has helped humans?
About this Project
Hi there! My name is Cheryl, and I’m putting on this fundraiser to benefit my horse Brit. Britters has been a therapy horse in the Equest Special Riders program for 4 years now and she loves her work. Due to a series of unfortunate events she has been unable to help the kids and is now in need of a little love and support herself.
Brit developed ulcers and the medication is much more than myself or the program can afford. To top it off, she needs her teeth floated. It’s a routine procedure but on top of the ulcers…. We are desperate to help her and the kids truly miss her.
It will cost us $33.00 A DAY to give Brit the cure she needs. The vet estimates that it will take a month to fully heal her. Myself and everyone in the program is chipping in their own money to help, but we woefully short. Please help! Ulcers are painful for horses. The ulcers will not heal without the medication and we will have to consider euthanasia to end her pain.
Any and every little bit helps, and you’ll be helping Brit get back to her kids and the program. If you would like to learn more about what she does, visit: www.equestspecialriders.com. You can use the “share” buttons on my profile to spread the word!
$33 – The Daily Savior
For everyone that donates $33.00 (one day of medication), I’ll send you a hand written thank-you note, a lock of Brit’s mane, a picture of Brit, and a small sack of candy as a sweet thank you from Brit, Equest, and myself.
